Start UpCMV Mode: Entering the Ventilatory Parameters
Power on unit. The Evita will now perform a 10 second self-test. After the self-test, ventilation will begin with the start-up values set during Configuration.
Select an adult or pediatric patient. Touch the respective screen key. To enter the ideal body weight of the patient, touch the screen knob and turn the dial knob to the desired body weight. Press dial knob to confirm setting.
Press the dial knob again to start ventilation. The Evita 4 will start ventilation with the default ventilation mode set by the user. The "Settings" screen will be displayed, and the user can check or correct the settings shown.
To select CMV mode, touch CMV screen button. Touch and set CMV parameters:
- VT (automatically set at 10 mL/kg if Ideal Body Wt. used)
- Flow (automatically set to the default settings determined by user)

- T insp
- O2
As shown on the right, touching a parameter screen button changes the color to yellow. Adjust parameter value with dial knob. Press dial knob to confirm settings and mode.

Select the alarm limit to be changed
Touch the high or low screen key for the parameter to be change

F spont - 5 to 120 bpm High Rate only
Vt insp - 30 to 4000 mL High Vt only
Paw - 10 to 100 cmH2O High Airway Pressure only. Low inspiratory pressure alarm automatically set to PEEP level
etCO2 - 1 to 100 mmHg High and Low
T apnea - 15 to 60 seconds No lower limit

- O2 concentration - preset at 4-6% above and below set O2 concentration
