CMV Mode: Entering the Ventilatory Parameters

Power on unit. The Evita will now perform a 10 second self-test. After the self-test, ventilation will begin with the start-up values set during Configuration.

Select an adult or pediatric patient. Touch the respective screen key. To enter the ideal body weight of the patient, touch the screen knob and turn the dial knob to the desired body weight. Press dial knob to confirm setting.

Press the dial knob again to start ventilation. The Evita 4 will start ventilation with the default ventilation mode set by the user. The "Settings" screen will be displayed, and the user can check or correct the settings shown.

 

To select CMV mode, touch CMV screen button. Touch and set CMV parameters:

  1. VT (automatically set at 10 mL/kg if Ideal Body Wt. used)
  2. Flow (automatically set to the default settings determined by user)
  3. f
  4. T insp
  5. O2

As shown on the right, touching a parameter screen button changes the color to yellow. Adjust parameter value with dial knob. Press dial knob to confirm settings and mode.

  3. Adjust the value by turning the dial knob

  4. Confirm the setting by pressing the dial knob
