Module 1 Activity - Synopsis of Mental Health Recovery & Own Recovery

Objective: Appreciate the process and goals of recovery from mental illness. Examine helper relationships that facilitate recovery.

Go to: Advocates Inc and read about communication with clients. www.intentionalcare.org and click on the article “Communicating Respectfully With and about Clients” found on the right upper corner

2. Using the readings listed above complete the following:

      1. Identify a  specific traumatic event from your past.
      2. Using concepts from the readings, briefly describe how you are recovering from the trauma.
      3. Using the sample performance standards from: Communicating respectfully with and about Clients, comment on how you were or wished you were helped by a health profession with your recovery from the trauma. 

Post the synopsis (aprox. 300 words) under Synopsis of Mental Health Recovery in the discussion. Remember, it is best to type your answer in a word processing program such as Word or WordPerfect and then copy and paste it in to the discussion. Be sure to save your work in your word processing program too.

3. Go to Discussion to post your synopsis
