The proximal surface of the hamate is convex
for articulation with the concave proximal carpals. The distal surface
articulates with the fourth and fifth metacarpals. The medial surface
convex proximally and concave distally articulating with the triquetrum.
The lateral surface articulates with the capitate by a facet covering
all but its distal palmar angle.
