Opponens Pollicis

Origin: Flexor retinaculum and tubercle of trapezium bone
Insertion: Entire length of first metacarpal bone, radial side
Innervation: Median, C6, 7, 8, T1
Action: Opposes the CMC joint of the thumb in a position so that, by flexion of the MCP joint, it can oppose the fingers.
