Probable Difference - More than others

What the score means: When a child gets this score, it means the child responds to stimuli ‘probably more than others’. Children typically respond less often than this to stimuli in their environment.

Since all the cut scores on the Sensory Profile are based on the normal bell curve, a ‘probable difference’ score means that the child responds more than about 84% of peers, about the same as 14% of peers and less than 2% of peers. Go to the Bell Curve illustration to see how this works.
