Introduction
Medication review and evaluation of patients' understanding of their medication regimens is central to good care of older adults. Aging-related differences in pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics are reviewed in this module, as are issues related to drug interactions, adherence, polypharmacy, and adverse drug reactions in older adults.

- Estimate creatinine clearance for older adults.
- Identify factors that increase the risk for adverse drug effects, including polypharmacy.

- Review an actual patient medication list and identify problem areas.

- Students will maintain an appropriately high index of suspicion for potential adverse drug effects among older patients.
