Study Questions for NRSG 965
There are several study questions that highlight major content
areas of our seminar. You are to read and reply to each question
prior to the course meeting date. For questions you CANNOT answer
or for which you are NOT SURE, type into the list serve
with a tentative answer. Then I will provide feedback through the
discussion.
This will give everyone a chance to read not only the answers
provided by me, but also the troubled questions provided by
everyone enrolled in this class.
Discussion Questions
- What is the value of research on quality outcomes
(including quality of life, cost benefit of therapy,
qualty of life given) compared to research in other
disciplines?
- How was Florence
Nightingale's work related to quality outcomes in
nursing research?
- Describe how scientific rigor is defined and achieved in
research on quality outcomes.
- Select one research article on quality and find three
articles in the literature that have used this type of
design. Compare the designs.
- Describe rights of subjects that need to be protected
when considering nursing research on quality of life,
including giving examples of violations of these rights.
- Give an example of scientific misconduct and describe the
erroneous knowledge generated from that research.
