1. Abstract Module

Goals of this Module are to Read, Critique, Write, and be Confident in submitting and then presenting abstracts based on research/study to International Conferences.

To achieve these goals you will first meet A research team who will be on-line discussing abstracts with you. You will be assigned to read several abstracts, practice writing abstracts from Information provided and discussing your own abstracts with a nursing research team.

4. Compare Two Versions of Writing Abstracts

• The critique of these was done by our research team member & social worker Jan
• Now discuss on line what was done to maintain clarity.

5. The Teams Clinical Trial Experience

• Finnish Guidelines for Obstructive Sleep Apnea
• NOW please write (in Finnish not English) an abstract from what you have read (do not look anything else up…just practice writing short abstract). The abstract you write can be either on how to prevent, screen for or how to treat OSA in Finland. After writing a paragraph style abstract, then also write a topic sentence style abstract…obtain review by your colleagues.

• Read these abstracts by Emily our terrific research team reviewer. These abstracts had to be reduced to 100 words reviewer (the requirement for submission). Now discuss on line what was done to cut these down but also done to maintain clarity.

8. Article by our team member Linda ..you must then write an abstract of it to discuss on line
