Welcome to NURS 460
Nursing Research

Welcome to Nursing Research Online. As you go through this introduction to parts of the course you will learn how to navigate (get around from page to page) on the internet. When you "click" on an underlined word to view that page - remember to come back (by clicking the BACK button at the top of your menu) to return to the current page and complete that assignment.  Now read the Help, but come back here!

Module Units

The research course is divided into units or modules. Modules contain the course content and learning activities you will engage in and be evaluated on. Periodically you are asked to evaluate the course and assignments.  That evaluation data does not go to the instructor but rather to a database where the results are compiled without any name.  The compiled anonymous data then goes to the instructor at a later date after it is looked at by administrators, etc.

The due dates and assignments for this course revolve around several modules. These modules are organized according to the research process and are described in detail underneath the reading assignment for each unit. You should be prepared in each unit to read research articles or chapters in the textbook, and to partake in a discussion. This also includes reviewing vocabulary words for each unit.

Your major assignment will center around one research article you critique for your own paper that will be turned in for your Research Utilization requirement. And finally, you should take practice quizzes to test your learning.

Whenever you see this graphic at the bottom of a page, you should use it to go to the next page; there will be more to read.  But also make sure you come back to click or link to all underlined areas on the page. Make sure to use this right button to go through the pages describing the course learning methods.
