Directions for Exercise: Prior to threaded discussion on
November 9, 2006, read the
University of
Kansas School of Nursing Philosophy and Conceptual Framework. This
pre-reading will facilitate your group exercise work which is outlined below.
- What is the major theoretical basis for the conceptual framework of the
KU SON?
- How are the concepts defined and/or described?
- Compare the pictorial model with the descriptions of the 4
components/concepts of the model. Do you believe the model is an accurate
depiction of the systems framework and its concepts? Why or why not?
- Read the descriptions of each of the horizontal threads of the
curriculum. In a theoretical sense, how do the threads contribute to the
curriculum?
