Understanding Differences Among Advanced Practice Nursing Roles

Interview and observe (when possible) a Master's-prepared nurse who is practicing in your preferred advance practice role. Include all of the following interview questions:

•         What got you interested in this role?
•         How did you develop and evolve this role over time?
•         What or who were your major supporters or enhancers of your role?
•         How do you cultivate this support?
•         What or who were your major deterrents for your effective role development?
•         How do you overcome these deterrents?
•         What are the major highlights of your role?
•         What are the major low points of your role?
•         How do you deal with the low points?
•         What are the critical skills necessary of your role?
•         If you can change anything about your role development, what would that be?
•         What advice do you have for someone who would like to develop a similar role?
