A 35 year old woman is at the clinic for her annual well woman exam. She is G2 P2 and has had her tubes tied. Her periods are regular and 4 -5 days duration with normal flow. Her period ended 3 days ago. She does not use condoms for intercourse. When inquiring about discharge during your history assessment, she says she does have a slight discharge which is yellow and that it just started. On further questioning she says that she has not felt well in the last few days. She has felt feverish and has had a lot of low abdominal pain and pressure. It just started hurting when she walks. She is married and monogamous, but has become concerned lately that her husband seems to be coming home later than he usually did.
