Ordered: Gentamycin 100 mg/100ml IVPB q8h. The IV handbook states that it should be given over 90 min.. What rate will you set on your IV pump?

100 ml = x
90 min 60 min

     90 x = 6000
      x = 6000/90
      x =   66.7 or 67 ml/hr

Note: some IV pumps will deliver tenths of a ml.
