Will I need any other software to complete the course?
Yes, you will need Adobe Acrobat plugin that works with Netscape and Internet Explorer. If you do not have these you can download them by clicking below.
You may also download these from the KU Software Download site if you use KUMC On-line as your Internet provider. The Student Computing CD, available from the ITC/ERC, also contains all the software needed for distance education courses.
How do I navigate the course?
The course is divided into four sections: Syllabus, Calendar, Discussion (Newsroom), and Help. These sections are accessible through the Home Page of the course and other high level pages. Getting Started and Help contain valuable information that will help you successfully begin and complete the course. They should be read before you begin any coursework. All coursework is accessed through the Calendar. The Calendar contains information on unit course materials and assignment due dates. Discussion connects you to the site at which asynchronous discussions will be held with your classmates. You will need to establish an account to enter the discussion site. There are directions for how to accomplish this in the Getting Started page.
How do I access journal articles/supplemental readings?
The journal articles and supplemental readings are listed in each of the course units (see Course Content) and available in .pdf format. You must have Adobe Acrobat to view .pdf files. More information about Adobe Acrobat can be seen above.
