The intercarpal ligaments connect individual carpals together.  These connections help to reinforce the palmar arch.  Examples of intercarpal ligaments are the captiotriquetral, scaphotrapezium, scapholunate, and pisohamate (covers Guyon's canal a common area for ulnar nerve entrapment) ligaments.
